This read-a-thon comes at a perfect time for me! I've just finished my exams, and there is still some time until the beginning of the next semester. A perfect time to get some reading done! Although I have a lot of work to do and will also be organizing a party to celebrate my birthday tomorrow, it's still OK, as it's a non-pressure read-a-thon, and my main goal is to spend less time in the Internet and read instead :) Moreover, here are some things I also want to accomplish:
- Read two chapters from Harry Potter y el Prisionero de Azkaban in Spanish to catch up with Hillary
- Catch up with Paradise Lost Readalong, which basically means to read three more parts. It's sooo difficult, but I really want to finish it, and if I fall back at the readalong, it'll never happen
- Finish The History of the Kings of Britain by Geoffrey of Monmouth
- Read some more from A Feast for Crows as a reward for doing everything mentioned above :)
I will do some kind of wrap-up post at the end of the event, and we'll see how well I'll do :) Wish me good luck!
First of all, Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, I hope you have a more productive break than me. I had two weeks off from work during Christmas and I didn't read a single book. I was very bad.
Third of all, yay for A Feast for Crows! I am going to read this one sometime this year too. Once the season 4 of the show is done or maybe even earlier - that's my plan.
Good luck with your readathon! And have fun!
Thanks a lot! I'm going to read both books 4 and 5 before the series start to air, because I'm not sure how they are mixing the books into the seasons, and I don't want to get any spoilers :))
DeleteHappy Birthday and enjoy your readathon!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dorothee! :)
DeleteHappy early birthday! I hope you finals went well and that things weren't too stressful. I hope you have a nice relaxing read-a-thon but there's no hurry in catching up to me; I've been flittering around from one book to the next for the past week or so and haven't been able to really settle on anything so I have several books I'm working on at the moment. Have a great day tomorrow- how old are you turning, if you don't mind me asking?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your congratulations, Hillary! Actually my birthday was yesterday, and I turned 23. Tomorrow is just the most convenient day for throwing a party for various reasons :))
DeleteI also have several books I'm reading at the moment, but I'm planning to read at least two chapters of HP this week. I've found a new Spanish group for conversation practice, and I need to read more to prepare for the first meeting! I'm so afraid I will not be able to say a word!
Happy belated birthday! Sounds like it's a perfect time for some readathoning for you indeed. I hope you enjoy everything you read.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Riv! I'm really enjoying everything except for Paradise Lost, and it's a good rate :)
DeleteYour humble hostess here, stopping by with a late greeting. And I thought I was doing heavy reading with Doctor Zhivago. Goodness! Anyway, wishing you luck and hoping you will get to A Feast for Crows. I'm listening to A Clash of Kings on audio (because my mom is reading my print book) so I can read the next one before the show comes back on in April. I find that I can't wait to get in the car just so I can listen. I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteOh, and happy belated birthday! Thanks for joining us for the read-a-thon.
Only Milton is really heavy here :) Zhivago is not a difficult read, but I wasn't a fan of either the style or the story... Although I know a lot of hard-core fans of it in Russia. Ow, A Clash of Kings is so much better than this... I think Martin should just have stopped somewhere after book 3...
