Hi sweeties! It has just arrived, and I want to share with you the best birthday present ever! I bought it myself, because if you don't treat yourself to awesome things, who would? :)
This is the 60th anniversary edition of The Lord of the Rings in hardcover with illustrations by Alan Lee!! It weighs 2.5 kilos and is breathtakingly beautiful!
Oh wow! It looks amazing! I have two hardcover versions and about 14 paperbacks but I may need another to add to my collection. Thanks for the temptation! :-)
Haha, you noticed! It's called "keyboard for blondes" and there are keys like "the longest key" "the biggest key" "the key to start writing your name with" and a lot of "unnecessary keys" :)
I hope you're enjoying it, and that it's standing the test of time quite well (apparently that clear slip case can be problematic when trying to put the book back in)
A great 'companion' to this particular edition is 'The Hobbit' illustrated by Jemima Catlin (Harper Collins again). It also exists as a deluxe edition.
Either way, hardcover or deluxe, it's well worth looking into!

ReplyDeletePRETTY! I think I have some of the same illustrations in the book, though definitely not the same edition (but quite a brick big hardcover).
ReplyDeleteI love how excited you look over the book. It is a pretty book. I can imagine your excitement.
