March 2013 Bloggiesta Sign-Up and Updates

This is a sticky post. Please scroll down for newer content!

Bloggiesta is here again, and now I'm going to officially participate! Why? Because I'm very lazy, and this is additional motivation to do something nice with my blog :) I'll post my updates here through the weekend not to clutter my blog with posts.

So my goals for this Bloggiesta are:

  1. DONE! Post at least 2 reviews - I had to write the one about The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes two weeks ago, but I was too involved in reading A Storm of Swords instead. Now both are reviewed!
  2. (Maybe) write the "About" page or create an index? Not sure if I really want it yet, but everybody seem to have these :)
  3. DONE! Think of a shorter name for my blog? This long one is very inconvenient... - How do you like my new title and title image? =) I like them a lot!
  4. DONE! Google Reader Replacement Options Mini-Challenge - I've completely transfered to Feedly Plus, and I really enjoy it so far. I had some problems with Chrome extension, but they are solved now after I deinstalled Feedly and left only Feedly Plus. Moral: don't install them together!
  5. DONE! Becoming a Book Depository Affiliate Mini-Challenge - I'm waiting for their confirmation now!
  6. Through a Visitor’s Eye Mini-Challenge
  7. (Maybe) Getting to Know You Mini-Challenge
  8. (Maybe) Reviewing in Many Places Mini-Challenge
  9. DONE! Create a Google+ page for my blog - now you can follow me HERE!
  10. DONE! Create a separate Twitter account for the blog - now I know where to write about all the bloggish stuff, and where - everything else. See my blog's twitter address below and feel free to follow!

I have Twitter now, so you can follow me at @InMyBookBlog through this event!

  1. I like your birds on the wire :) Have a good bloggiesta :)

    1. Thanks) I immediately fell in love with this design too!)

  2. Good for you to attempt so many mini-challenges! They look like a lot of fun, but I haven't joined in on any yet. You don't seem lazy at all! ;)

  3. Good luck! I've never participated before...I wonder if I'd have time? I hope you reach your goals!

    1. Thanks! Well, I usually don't have time, that's why there are so many things waiting to be fixed :/

    2. Good job!

I didn't recognize you yesterday when I saw one of your posts pop up in my Feedly thread. I'm like: "Who's In My Book and why is she in my A-List? haha I like the new look (and the new name is certainly much easier)!

What's the difference between Feedly and Feedly Plus? I switched to Feedly...

    3. Well, I thought that there will be some problems with the new title, so I added an explanation after the title)

Well, I can't say that I fully understand the difference myself, but Feedly Plus has Chrome extension which shows up in the upper right corner of the browser and shows the number of new articles. But after you click on it the page is exactly the same!

  4. Good luck with your list! I hope you have a productive weekend ;) I'm following you on Twitter now :)

  5. You've got fantastic goals, it's all the little things like the title and header, Google+ page and a Twtiter account that completes the package :D

    My Bloggiesta Goals

    Have a great Bloggigesta weekend!

  6. Good luck getting everything done! I have a few tips for an About page. Think of things that tell about you but not too personal. For instance, I am a book blogger, I have a dog, I'm married, I like to listen to music, eat mint chocolate chip ice cream, and go to the pool. You know things about me but you don't know personal details. Maybe start with something like that!

Here is my Bloggiesta To Do List!

    1. Thanks a lot for your tips, Rebecca! It is really useful, because every time I try to write something, I find myself at a loss) You gave me some ideas, and I even have a draft now! Although it'll probably take some time to polish it)

  7. My main goal today is trying to decide on a feeder replacement...going to try out both feedly and bloglovin I think and make the decision from there.

    Here's my Bloggiesta to-do list.

Good luck with the rest of your to-do list!

  8. Awesome work! Bloggiesta is one of my favorite blogging events. I always learn so much and feel so productive. Good for you!

  9. I love your excitement with the Done!'s - I feel like I can hear you shouting it and pumping your fist in the air! I hope you check out my Bloggiesta To Do List or join my mini-challenge about getting involved!
