It's R.I.P. VIII Time!

This will be my first R.I.P. event, and I have been looking forward to it and collecting books I want to read :) So from September 1st to October 31st I'm planning to read some of the following:
  1. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
  2. Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake
  3. The Ocean At The End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
  4. The Mysteries of Udolpho by Anne Radcliffe
  5. The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole
  6. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

I am thus going for Peril the First level, which means I'm pledging to read at least four creepy books. Quite doable, I think! :)

  3. I've read about this event in the past, but never taken part; however, right now I'm thinking this will be what I want to do as well! I already picked my books last night and will write my post before September 1st. Thanks for the information!

  6. Welcome!!! Love having first timers, especially when they have fun and come back! :) You have some great choices. I really enjoyed Miss Peregrine and am very much looking forward to the sequel. The Castle of Otranto is good, fun melodramatic gothic fare, as I suspect is Udolpho. I think I read Sleepy Hollow when I as in elementary school but remember little of the story. I've seen the Tim Burton film so many times that I cannot picture much else when I hear the title.

    1. I've heard a lot of funny things about both Udolpho and Otranto, so I guess they will be more funny than scary :) I need to check the Tim Burton film out after I finish the book!
